Artist Statement
I love storytelling in its extremes. Small, intimate, hushed and personal. Grand, big hearted, joyful and silly! I am drawn to storytelling that causes all of us – performer and audience alike to sit up and pay attention, to ask questions, to step out of our comfort and into a story that is perhaps new or unfamiliar to us. As an actor I believe that storytelling isn’t just an intellectual or an emotional endeavor, but a physical practice. Stories are told and felt with our bodies. Before we are conscious of thinking a thought, before we’ve opened our mouth to speak, a story is being told through our body. I find the power and simplicity of that awe inspiring, that we are, each of us, on account of having a body, a story moving through the world. Collaborating with other storytellers is what has kept me coming back to the practice of acting. If you are interested in working together, click the button below and let's connect! |
